In recent years, many products have been introduced at international media and trade shows. Tomita Somé-Kogei wishes to impart SARAKICHI products and this fine and delicate Japanese traditional technique to people, domestically and internationally.
1882
Toimta KIchibei founded a factory in Asakusa-umamichi, Tokyo.
1911
Toimta Ichibei obtained a patent of Utsushi-egata which became a prottype of the current type of screen.
1914
Tomita Yuhei and Waka moved the factory to the current location, by the Kanda river in Waseda, Tokyo. Waka produced Unochiyo-kozakura Kimono with a renowned Kimono designer, Uno Chiyo.
1949
Tomtia Kosuke was elected to the Gendai no Meiko, as a honnered craftsman (nationally desginnated).
2006
Tomita Atsushi became CEO and also holds many public roles.
2012
Launched SARAKICHI collection.
